First, I thank you for your visit and wish to present myself to you.
Since April 2014 I am physician in this praxis. In the prior ten years I did work in the dep. of internal medicine of the university hospital Göttingen, the Hosp. Neu Mariahilf, Göttingen and a praxis for internal medicine / hematology and oncology in Northeim. The last two years I was leading physician in an "MVZ" in Herzberg am Harz.
I did complete two consultant titles ("Facharzt"):
1. Internist (general internal medicine),
2. Hematologist and oncologist.
In 2013 I did cover for a diseased colleague and provided treatment for his patients comprised mainly of general internal medicine cases. In addition and in parallel I took care of the patients of the hematology and oncology praxis.
At that time I came to a profound conclusion: A thorough and serious care by a "general practitioner (GP)" is crucial and critical yet frequently underestimated. Good care is vital to preserve or regain health. A dedicated GP tends to know his patients well and thus can replace a hand full of specialists. He is invaluable in avoiding unnecessary waste of time and health by realizing changes early and thus "on time".
I me you will find a physician offering not only a good general medical care. Due to my prior experience as a hematologist and oncologist I am used to thorough and deliberate procedures in the diagnosis of your health problems extending beyond the common approaches of a "general practitioner".
Thus, I take heart, even in the diagnostic of diffuse and uncommon symptoms in our praxis without rush and unnecessary referral to specialists. On the other hand it is a given that I will advise such a referral in case I cannot solve a problem. Further, I will not hesitate to contact the college to ensure an optimal continuation of your treatment, especially in urgent cases.
Due to my prior care for severely diseased tumor patients I find it natural that every patient - even those with advanced medical conditions or terminal stage diseases - can and should be cared for by his general practitioner in an "at home setting" as long as possible.
During treatment I will take the time necessary and no less. Thus, if you might have to wait a bit longer before I have time for you: I ask your understanding, maybe the person before you was more diseased than he assumed.
My personal credo: A patient with a (medical) complaint is always to be taken serious!
